Wolfe FarmOur Mission:

Enrich the current and future quality of life in the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio by fostering access to opportunity.

Our Vision:

Through the power of charitable giving, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio seeks to achieve a thriving economy, educational excellence and cultural enrichment while recognizing the region’s unique heritage and traditions.

Our Goals:
1. Attract private and public contributions for programs and endowment
2. Award grants for charitable and civic purposes
3. Provide and promote leadership for collaboration in local and regional initiatives

Our Strategies:
1. Nurture philanthropy by growing permanent funds and resources to support communities in enhancing quality of life.

2. Create educational opportunities by helping the region leverage collective strengths to overcome barriers, promote innovation and secure funds and resources to solve problems and realize opportunities. FAO serves as the region's convener, fundraiser and partner in educational success.

3. Promote regional pride by championing the region's assets to create positive expectations, and by networking those passionate about Appalachian Ohio to create relationships and funds that support the region's progress. FAO promotes pride through its signature I'm a Child of Appalachia® program, which includes a public relations campaign, programming in schools and a growing network of donors -- the I'm a Child of Appalachia® Network (ICAN!).

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio adheres to a national standard of ethical practices for community foundations.  Read more about the National Standards for Community Foundations.
