Leave a Legacy

Charitable organizations need ongoing support to meet the needs of their communities.  According to research conducted in 2000, more than 80 percent of Americans contribute to nonprofit groups of their choice throughout their lifetimes.  However, only around eight percent of people choose to continue this support through a charitable bequest. A planned gift is a win – win situation.  While potentially reducing the estate tax burden and increasing the amount left to family, it gives the donor peace of mind and helps to ensure a bright future for the charity(s) they believe in.

LEAVE A LEGACY is a campaign conducted by the National Committee on Planned Giving to inspire people like you to make charitable bequests. Bequests are just one type of "planned gift" - a gift that will be distributed sometime in the future - to a charity that is meaningful to you. Through LEAVE A LEGACY, people who have made charitable bequests and other types of planned gifts share their experiences in the hope of encouraging others to give.
